Tumpak Sewu Waterfall or Coban Tumpak Sewu is a popular waterfall in East Java. This waterfall has a height of about 150 meters, has a uniqueness that is the number of springs that come out of the cliff so that it forms many waterfalls. Description of Tumpak Sewu Waterfall

Tumpak Sewu Waterfall is a very popular waterfall, located on the border of Sidorenggo village, Ampelgading District, Malang City with Sidomulyo village, Pronojiwo regency, Lumajang Regency of East Java Indonesia. Before it was famous, Tumpak Sewu waterfall also had several designations such as Coban Sewu, Grojogan Sewu, or Pancoan Sewu.

This waterfall comes from the flow of Glidik River from Mount Semeru, which is a river from the cold Lava flow and which makes the barrier between Malang Regency and Lumajang Regency, East Java Indonesia.

This waterfall offers a beautiful view consisting of the main flow of the Glidik river as well as several streams of water from the cliffs that make up many waterfalls. The height of Tumpak Sewu waterfall can reach 150 meters or more with beautiful cliffs standing, majestic, and very wide making Tumpak Sewu waterfall like Niagara Falls.

So stay alert, if the time is cloudy or during the rainy season it is better to enjoy this waterfall on the cliffs only because the location conditions are quite steep and slippery around the Tumpak Sewu Waterfall.

1. Playing water at Tumpak Sewu Waterfall

For those of you who come down to the bottom of Tumpak Sewu waterfall, it's a real loss if you don't feel the cold water here. If the water coming from the Glidik river is dirty (due to mining activities above the waterfall), then you can play the water in the waterfall that comes from the spring located in the western waterfall.

2. Enjoy the natural atmosphere

What if I want to visit the location of Tumpak Sewu Waterfall?

1. If you use a personal vehicle

From Malang / Kepanjen drive your vehicle to Gondanglegi - Turen - Dampit - Tirtoyudo - Ampelgading until there is a banner Coban Sewu then follow the directions.

From Lumajang drive to Sumbersuko-Tempeh-Pasirian - Candipuro - Pronojiwo. After passing the Banner of Drip Cave there will be a road sign to Coban Tumpak Sewu. Just follow the instructions. 

2. If you use public transportation

a. From Kepanjen District

From Kepanjen take a public transportation majoring in Gondanglegi. Arrive at Gondanglegi down and then up the Public Transportation majoring Turen. Arriving in Turen, continue by bus to Lumajang. Get off at Coban Sewu and mention the name of Sidorenggo village, Ampelgading sub-district, or before the Malang-Lumajang border gate. Continue on foot 500 meters - 800 meters. Depends on where the driver dropped you off. Usually yes at the T-junction near the Sidorenggo village office or the last intersection before the Malang - Lumajang border gate.

b. From Malang City
